SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
- Bring your own boat! The Circle H is the perfect basecamp for your wakesurfing or waterskiing group, with ample parking for a boat trailer and two nearby public ramps to access the 7000+ acres of Lake Granby. There are also public boat ramps on Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake.
- Rent a pontoon or fishing boat from Indian Peaks Marina right next door. Advance reservations are recommended. They also have a restaurant and bar.
- Fishing: Go fishing on Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Lake, or Grand Lake, or fly fishing on the Colorado River. For a fun and guided fishing trip, we recommend fishingwithbernie.com.
- Rent paddleboards and kayaks at numerous locations in Grand Lake.
- Go for a swim or launch your paddleboard/kayak from the beach at Grand Lake or the picnic areas on Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby.
- Hiking: There are countless amazing hiking opportunities in the local area, including in Rocky Mountain National Park, Arapahoe National Forest, and the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. You can find several hiking guidebooks and maps in the house.
- Mountain biking
- Flying Heels Arena rodeo: Every Saturday in June and July, plus July 2-3 (2023) @ 7 pm. This is some serious Colorado fun and a favorite event with our visitors.
- Winter Park Resort: Ride the Alpine Slide or take a ride to the top in the Gondola.
- Rent an ATV and explore trails.
- Grand Adventures Balloon Tours: Hot air balloon rides in the Fraser Valley.
- "Summer tubing" at Snow Mountain Ranch.
- Ziplining at Snow Mountain Ranch, Devil's Thumb Ranch, or Winter Park Adventure Quest.
- Grand Lake's Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater: Take in a show! Shows run June-September.
- Hot Sulphur Springs Spa/Resort: Relax in one of the 15 100% natural pools.
WINTER ACTIVITIES:
- Winterpark Resort or Ski Granby Ranch for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
- Grand Lake Nordic Center and Snow Mountain Ranch have rentals, lessons, and groomed trails galore for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
- Go tubing and sledding at serveral locations in Grand County.
- Take a dogsled ride at Snow Mountain Ranch or Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park.
- Go for a horse-drawn carriage ride at Dashing Through The Snow in Fraser.
- Ice fishing: During the season, walk right out onto the lake, drill a hole, and drop a line. Or take a guided ice fishing trip with fishingwithbernie.com. The annual 3 Lakes Ice Fishing Tournament takes place each January, right off our deck.
- Rent snow mobiles at several local businesses in Grand Lake and go on a self-guided tour. Advance reservations recommended.
